Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series comprises newspaper clippings, memorandums, correspondence, rosters, questionnaires, surveys, and proposals as well as a small number of Academic Council meetings minutes, agendas, and attendent materials related to and that document the creation and final versions of institute policies and procedures. Subjects include (but are not limited to) amendments to the bylaws of faculty senate; affirmative action; faculty contracts, recruitment and searches; salary improvement program, creative leaves; honorary degrees; budgets; educational concerns regarding critical studies requirements; mentoring; new course and program proposals and evaluation; graduation, and WASC accreditation. A table of contents for the materials, created by Academic Council Recorder Martha Baxton, is located in box 11.

Conditions Governing Access

Access is uniquely restricted: Series 1 and 2 are restricted to CalArts faculty, staff, students, and administration. Series 3 and 4 are restricted to former and current Academic Council members.
